I was first introduced to yoga through my dance curriculum as a form of cross training. It wasn’t until I experienced a trying time in my life that I sought out a regular yoga and meditation practice. I felt an inner peace and developed a trust in life’s journey that propelled me to dive deeper into everything yoga has to offer. Upon my college graduation, I moved to San Diego to begin my career as a professional ballet dancer. I began working at a local fitness club where I was fortunate to further immerse myself in yoga and complete my 200 hour yoga teacher training. My classes are vinyasa based with a central focus on the breath that adds a meditative experience to a powerful physical practice. I hope to see you in class where we can grow in our practice together!
Growing up training in classical ballet and now dancing as a professional ballerina, yoga was always just thought of as another form of cross training, a way to burn extra calories, or to gain more flexibility. It wasn’t until I took some time off from my dancing that I was really able to explore all of the beautiful components and gifts of yoga. After my first real heated vinyasa class, my heart felt a thousand times lighter and I was left with such peace and a whole body calmness I’d never experienced before.
Since then, I continued my practice on and off until I decided to dedicate an entire summer to this journey. I traveled solo to Rishikesh, India for just over six weeks to complete my 200 hour teacher certification. India, the birthplace of yoga, and all its beauty, culture, food, and people have impacted my life and my heart more than I could ever describe. The best I can do is try to share even half of what I’ve learned, seen, and experienced, to all who are open to receive. Yoga is such a therapeutic offering for this life and I’m so grateful to be able to give back what I’ve been given.
My heart has never been so light or my spirit as free.
I found yoga at a young age as a way to feel the present moment by uniting the mind body and soul on and off my mat. Growing up as a competitive dancer and cheerleader, the asana practice, or physical movements of yoga came naturally to me. I instantly fell in love with yoga realizing that I only had to be as good as my own comfortable practice. Every time I left my mat I felt in time with my surroundings, radiating a peaceful vibe into the universe. I am thankful to share my positive energy and love of yoga with each fellow yogi.
“My students are my teachers. Each body is individual; every practice is unique; leaving no right way to do yoga. That is the beauty of it.”
I’m passionate about yoga, and its healing benefits. I like to bring a relaxing, playful spirit to my classes, where you feel free to be yourself, grow and learn in a safe environment. All levels of students are welcome in my classes, and I’ll do my best to create a safe and enjoyable yoga experience. I’m a Reiki practitioner, and have an Associate of Science for Massage therapy and Oriental bodywork. In my free time, I’m at the beach learning to surf or hanging with my dog, “Hula”. I hope you will join me and experience the benefits of a regular yoga practice.
I came to yoga at a young age, growing up with a dance, gymnastic, and cheer background…working with the body, mind, and soul made me feel in harmony instantly. Yoga was there for me at the times I needed it the most, my practice even helped me get through college where I studied and got my degree at the University of Hawaii Manoa in Psychology. After I finished school, I decided I wanted to see the world and dive even deeper into my yoga practice. What better way to collaborate the two wishes then by going to the birth place of yoga? I spent 6 months studying and teaching while traveling across Mother India, where I completed my 500 hr teacher training program. Learning a wide variety of meditation techniques, anatomy, philosophy, asana practice, and culture was the most rewarding work I have done. I hope to share my passion and unite as one with you down this path, looking forward to meeting you on the journey! Do Yoga, Be happy 🙂
